A collection of stories [by Melissa Snark] which reflect a number of paranormal genres.

Some I had read before, so I chose to read the new ones. Mainly wished I hadn’t!

Draken, by Solease Barner

1 star

Boo…..oring.

Typical dragon shifter with a temper and huge Alpha issues meets human and…

You know the story, I know the story, we all know the story. So why bother to read it?

  • Noble Secrets by Cecilia Dominic 1 star as got bored quickly.
  • Call of the Dragon by Elianne Adams

I got really bored by chapter 20 of 27 chapters. It was fight – heal – fight – heal – fantasy land – traitor – and so on.

2 stars as I did get more than half-way through.

  • First Light by Tami Lund

Prequel to Light Bearer series.

Started OK but then I got bored. 2

  • Treasured Find by Nancy Corrigan

4 stars

  1. All Royals are twins.
  2. They don’t look like their siblings – why?
  3. All royals have 3 shifter animals inside them and are therefore extremely rare.

I bought the continuation story about messed up Royal Devin.

  • Beautiful Mistake by Nancy Corrigan

The Royals look for Molly, Megan’s twin.

Too repetitive from 1st book. 2

Once a wolf?

In Pursuit
Adirondack Pack, #1.5
K.C. Stewart
paranormal, mythology, romance
Kindle

There is a man in her bed and Sadie isn’t sure how she feels about that. The wolf she once considered a pet is now her mate. She needs time to process but Owen feels it is his duty as alpha to help them along into a happy marriage, starting with their honeymoon. For the next week, Sadie will only have Tyson for company as they hike through the Adirondack Mountains. Figuring out sleeping arrangements with only one extra-large sleeping bag will turn out to be the least of their problems as Tyson informs her that someone has been pursuing them since the very beginning.

Sadie has now married Tyson – now that he has been tamed and is no longer feral he can become a good mate for her.

Sadie, as explained in previous  books, was not born a werewolf and it is taking her a time to get adjusted to her new situation especially  now that Tyson is no longer feeling the need to be Fred the ‘tame’ wolf for her.

Tyson of course, still has to perform his pack duties, which is again something that Sadie needs to get used to.

Enjoyable read as are all this series.

Born to be Alpha, Cameron Sinclair walks away from his birthright and Pack. He wants nothing to do with either as he builds his multi-billion dollar business.

When summoned he reluctantly goes to the aid of his Uncle’s Pack. What he finds is danger, intrigue, heartache, and the chance of a different life.

His instinct screams at him to walk away but his heart has other ideas. Come and join the Highland Wolf Clan and find out what’s in store for Cameron and his Highlanders.

The first book encouraged me to buy the series so … but that said the stories were very similar to all such stories with lots of fighting, finding mates in strange places, romance and jealousy and traitors and…

So here are the books and how I rated them.

  1. The Reluctant Alpha 4
  2. Alpha Decides 3.5
  3. New Beginnings 3
  4. Despair and Destiny 2.5
  5. Highlander’s Return – Novella 3
  6. Dilemmas 3

When Thomas Khatt awakens to the magical world following the sudden, violent death of his elderly Archmagus neighbor, he doesn't get the standard package of awesome power combined with a hero destiny. Nope, he trades his thumbs in for a tail, tawny fur and four feet with a very low co-efficient of friction on linoleum. His destiny as one of three talking mountain lions in the magical world? To be sold at auction and bonded to some pimply faced apprentice for life. Thomas would rather eat dirty kitty litter. Armed only with an impressive set of chompers and buckets of snark, Thomas faces off against a lightning-bolt throwing granny and a sexy union recruiter as he desperately tries hold the threads of his old life together. To stay off the leash he'll have to take advantage of the chaos caused by the Archmagus' death and help the local Inquisition solve his murder. A pyromanic squirrel, religious werewolves, and cat-hating cops all add to the chaos as Thomas attempts to become the first Freelance Familiar.

So who knew that ‘familiars’ could be freelance? And not necessarily all about one witch?

And here is the fact that you didn’t start life as a cat? Of any sort. So how come you are one now?

A humorous story with a twist that was good light reading.

Are you wicked enough?

Wickedest Witch Book Cover Wickedest Witch
Eve Langlais
paranormal romance, mystery, contemporary, new adult, humour
CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform; 2nd Edition edition
(22 May 2013)

Evangeline is not a very nice witch, and she’s not afraid to show it. Her ruthless nature comes in handy as a problem solver until she lands a job where she’s forced to work with an uncouth shifter. He’s rude, cocky, totally unsuitable, not to mention part animal, but despite it all, she can’t help craving his touch.

Ryker is big, bad, and brash. When he’s partnered with a curvy witch, he does everything in his power to fight her allure. And fails. But he’s not too disappointed as he discovers wickedness has its uses, especially in the bedroom.

Vampires, a wedding from hell, and a cackling boss named Rumpelstiltskin, will these two wicked beings complete their job and admit, despite their stubborn nature, that they belong together?

The Wickedest Witch runs a ‘Solution’ agency – any problem solve – for a large fee.

Now Rumpelstiltskin has a daughter who he loves dearly and when she is threatened he calls in the WW. But he thinks he needs brawn too and calls in a cougar shifter to help and sparks fly in many directions.

If I was able to, I’d also wear a glamour that made me look taller and slimmer, but I just wonder am I really taller and slimmer? What would happen if you measured my height for instance? and what about my clothes? Are they real? Do I need 2 wardrobes? All questions I ponder…

Overall, another fun ride of a book with lots of mythical creatures.

I really liked this author’s style and proceeded to buy more of her books. I really must find out how the wedding happened – sounds good. An author with the style of Robyn Peterman but not as potty mouthed – less inventive language, but still lots of sniggers.
