Urban Fantasy box set – 8 in the Chamber

  1. Blood Money

by Chris Underwood

4 stars

A short story  with trolls, vampires, Cunning Men, and a missing vampire’s blood donor which turns out all to be about internal politics. Enjoyed the twist and turns in this story, and,  considering its length it managed to read as a complete story.

  1. Croft and Wesson

by Brad Magnarella

4 stars

Wizards, werewolves, dwarves, and leylines. Missing women and old – very old – Norse gods with nasty eating habits and some dynamite. Again a well written story with dwarves being remarkably apt with dynamite – I wonder why? The Norse gods aspect was grisly but understanable.

  1. Dane Curse

by Matt Abraham

Superheroes and Villains – white and black capes! Lots of fighting. Seemed to be aimed at the YA male? Copy of Micky Spillane style? Comic style adventures that didn’t do it for me.

2 stars for me.

  1. Dark City

Kit Hallows

Dystopian. Magic. Non-humans and again seemed to be aimed at the YA audience. And again not my scene. I am not really a dystopian future fan. I prefer to think happy futures not nasty ones…

2 stars for me

Books Not Yet Read

6. Strange Magic

7. Blood Scent

8. Just One Night
