Princess. Warrior. Dragon Shifter. Huntress. When it comes to protecting her family, eighteen-year-old Princess Huntress is known for kicking ass, taking names and then kicking a little more ass, just to be sure. She’s the last of her kind—a glass dragon shifter—and no matter what the threat, Huntress always tracks it down solo. Then Huntress meets the leader of the L’Griffe crime family, Gage Beaufort, who is a dashing dragon shifter with a knee-melting stare. The attraction is instant, yet Huntress hates it. Why? Crime syndicates hurt royal authority, which means they threaten her family. Long story short, being with Gage is just wrong. Besides Huntress already has a rock-solid life plan, and that’s to fight alone, forever. No relationships, thank you very much. But when a new danger threatens the royals, everything changes. Now Huntress needs a mercenary army and fast, so she forges an alliance with L’Griffe. To protect those she loves, Huntress agrees to marry someone she loathes: Gage Beaufort. But will the extra help be enough? Even worse, Huntress’ family isn’t the only thing at risk–the same is true for the princess’ heart. Because Gage is a man who always gets what he wants. In this case, the crime lord desires Princess Huntress, body and soul. “With Angelbound Offspring, every page is entertaining… an exciting story that unfolds with magic, dragons, a little romance and a villain to despise.” – Tonja, Goodreads Perfect for readers seeking a clean fantasy adventure in the spirit of omegaverse romance Angelbound Offspring 1. Can you tell your readers something about why you chose this particular topic to write about?

Right now, I am happily touring the blogosphere as part of the launch for HUNTRESS, book #7 in my Angelbound Offspring series. I got the idea for this novel after reading some omegaverse stuff. In the omegaverse world, there’s more structure about being a fated mate versus just—BLAM—I love you! So I found that intriguing. That said, the omegaverse is pretty explicit, so I needed to ditch the concept and rebuild it from scratch so it’s appropriate for a younger reader.

What appealed to you about writing HUNTRESS?

I’m a big fan of characters discovering their worlds alongside the reader. In HUNTRESS, our heroine has a memory block in terms of what it really means for her to be a glass dragon. We get to join her as she finds herself again… literally.

Why do you think it is different and your approach is unique
True story: I recently asked my readers this question so I find the right key words for my book descriptions. The biggest thing readers found different about my work is my unique approach to epic fantasy. I craft different worlds for each of my books. So if you want to lose yourself in another reality, then I’m your author!

How long do you think about a topic before deciding to write about it?
I map things out, come back, and tweak them again. Wash, rinse, repeat. From the start of the process, it’s probably at least three years. By the time I get down to intensively writing, it can be 6-8 weeks.

Do you have a set of notes or a note book where you write down topics that appeal before making a decision as to which topic this time?
I use Pinterest a ton. You can
check out my boards here.

How long does it take to research a topic before you write?
As a fantasy writer, I don’t research so much go through a process of trial and error. Example: in my book, HUNTRESS, I originally wanted the character of Gage to have his dead parents talking in his head. It made for a few funny scenes—and the idea certainly isn’t out there a ton—but in the end, it just didn’t work for the character. So I ripped it out and did something else. This goes on and on until at some point, I read the draft and say, that’s it!!!

Thanks for having me by as part of the launch tour for HUNTRESS!

Christina Bauer thinks that fantasy books are like bacon: they just make life better. All of which is why she writes romance novels that feature demons, dragons, wizards, witches, elves, elementals, and a bunch of random stuff that she brainstorms while riding the Boston T. Oh, and she includes lots of humor and kick-ass chicks, too.

Christina graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School with BA’s in English along with Television, Radio, and Film Production. She lives in Newton, MA with her husband, son, and semi-insane golden retriever, Ruby.
