Lizzie Brown is about to have the destination wedding of her dreams. But as this former preschool teacher knows, being a demon slayer makes everything more complicated. The vengeful Earl of Hell is on her tail. And now it seems one of the guests at the eccentric, seaside mansion is possessed and trying to kill her. Maybe she should just elope.

The groom, studly shape-shifting griffin Dimitri Kallinikos, vows to protect her at all costs. Yet even he is acting suspiciously. And minions of the devil are popping up everywhere. As the wedding draws closer, Lizzie has to learn who is behind the attacks—and fast—or risk losing everyone she loves.

This is for all the women who've been told they couldn't handle a motorcycle, but took it upon themselves to learn… | Biker quotes, Motorcycle quotes, Riding quotes

Now this story had lots of humour to attract the reader. Another wedding and as you can guess from the title some mayhem ensues due to the paranormal aspects.

This book is part of the Accidental Demon Slayer series – #5.

Our heroine, Lizzie, has a the most wonderful grannie – she is leader of a witch coven (24 witches) that ride motorbikes! Harleys to be precise. They are wild and untamed; they drink too much and party too hard and generally live up to the reputation of motorbike gangs except for the witch aspect.

Our heroine has a very straightlaced Southern mother from Society, with the relatives to match, and a very handsome Greek fiancé, Dimitri, who is not really quite what might expect either – he is a shape-shifting griffin.

The mother is far from happy that her daughter has taken up with her Grannie and learnt to be a witch and a demon slayer with potions, spells and weapons too – except she wasn’t really yet aware of what, and who, that meant. From being a nice ‘Lady’ with Southern manners and charm, but nonetheless she was going to give her a true Southern wedding in a mansion with flowers and folderols and all. The mansion is not quite what was expected and what happened at the wedding with 24 biker witches who hadn’t learnt Southern manners. And Lizzie has a dog with a pet dragon (!) PS Lizzie has now got purple hair that her mother does not approve of – but I do – I have purple hair – sometimes striped as it is at the moment with pink in 2 tones, and as it was last month with added orange. But I decided that was one colour too far.
Things don’t go as planned and fun and mayhem is had by all and the reader is astonished at just what can happen in this (haunted) mansion when you add demon slaying witches to the mix.

12 months of wolves

Year of the Wolf pack Vol 2

paranormal, demons and devils, urban fantasy, shifters

Some of the books within this set of novels are reviewed here, – these are really the ones with which I got bored very easily. Only one sparked my interest – initially but follow on was not so good.

Typical dragon shifter with a temper and huge Alpha issues meets human and…

You know the story, I know the story, we all know the story. So why bother to read it?

  • Noble Secrets by Cecilia Dominic 1 star as got bored quickly.
  • Call of the Dragon by Elianne Adams

I got really bored by chapter 20 of 27 chapters. It was fight – heal – fight – heal – fantasy land – traitor – and so on.

2 stars as I did get more than half-way through.

  • First Light by Tami Lund

Prequel to Light Bearer series.

Started Ok but then I got bored. 2

  • Treasured Find by Nancy Corrigan

3 stars

  1. All Royals are twins.
  2. They don’t look like their siblings – why?
  3. All royals have 3 shifter animals inside them and are therefore extremely rare.

I bought the continuation story about messed up Royal Devin. But went no further as it then degenerated into a typical shifter story.

  • Beautiful Mistake

The Royals look for Molly, Megan’s twin.

Too repetitive from 1st book. 2

Supernatural Prisons #1-3

As a wolf shifter with razor-sharp senses, Jessa Lebron can perceive the slightest change in the air. And her lupine instincts go into overdrive right before her mother, who abandoned her years ago, returns to the pack bearing secrets that change everything.

The biggest secret of all: Jessa is dragon marked, a designation that places her in grave danger. The dragon marked are destined to resurrect the dragon king, a fearsome ancient warmonger. And they must be eliminated.

Soon Jessa is locked up in Vanguard, the notorious paranormal prison that houses criminal vampires, feys, and magic users. Thankfully, she’s not alone: Braxton Compass, her best friend and a dragon shifter, has her back. Jessa and Braxton must find a way to free themselves and the rest of the dragon marked. But can her pack mates help her stop the dragon king before his deadly return?

This is is a review of all three Dragon Marked /Mystics / Mated:

A more standard universe and Earth in this good reading set of 3 novels – and start of a stand-alone series, but with continuation novels.

We have all the usual paranormals living together in a hidden town in the USA, their main purpose and work, being to guard a prison where the criminal supernaturals are sent to live out their (very long – up to 800 years!) lives.

Our heroine is a wolf shifter with a secret, and as it turns out she has more secrets than she was aware of…

The storyline centres on her discovery of her secrets, their impact on her life and that of her best friends, and Pack, the Quads. The Quads are not identical and each is a different typ of Supernatural. As they are very arare births, they are destined to be the Town’s Leaders when 25 of age.

A well written trio of novels, with the thoughts, emotions, and behaviour of Jessa well characterised. We learn the story through her eyes and she is the main story-teller in all 3 books.

Duncan MacQuoid, dragonslayer, is no more. In his place is a tortured man seeking solace for his sins. One fateful night he finds a woman he believes will be his salvation. Little does he know, his love for her could be his final undoing. Fiona Firesblood, dragon-shifter and noble queen, will stop at nothing to protect her child, even if it means she must sever the bond with her mate, Duncan MacQuoid, the one man she loves above all others, and the one man whose past could destroy them all. Safina Firesblood, daughter of a cursed union between dragon and dragonslayer, has grown into a young woman, a powerful dragon princess in her own right. She’s given one chance at true love; will she risk the dragon queen’s wrath or resign herself to an eternity of sorrow?

Once upon a time there lived the last of the Dragon Queens and her single offspring – Fiona.

Fiona and her mother lived in a cave near a small (medieval) village and Fiona was lonely, so she assumed her human form and went into the village to find a friend and also to heal disease. She is befriended by Davinda, who is a Druid. Fiona’s father was human and according to her mother, he rejected them and left them. Fiona had a child herself – Safina – and because of her concerns over human acceptance as she herself was rejected by her human partner on his learning of her true form, she arranged that they should be’ buried’ at sea ‘until the world was ready to accept dragons’.

Acceptable for the younger YA age range as rather simplistic story-telling.

Dragon Lore

The one female he isn't supposed to want, is the only one he's ever needed. When her brother goes missing, everything in Lily Cage’s world turns upside down. Born a Hunter female, the last thing she needs is an attraction to Dallas, the scariest dragon in existence. The one known as The Destroyer. With peace between the Hunters and Dragons hanging by a thread, one wrong move on Lily or Dallas’s part could catapult them all back into war. But with Dallas playing by his own rules and someone on the outside decimating her life, they have a choice–stand and fight, or lose everything they never realized they wanted.

Dragon shifters blow fire don’t they? What do they blow when they are Ice Dragons? And would they talk to the Fire Breathers?

This is  book 2 in a series but with a fairly simple  romance of ‘enemies’ that is a Dragon and Hunter (of Dragons). With an underlying story of politics, wars, treachery and dark magic.

In some ways the story was repetitive and so I debated giving it less than 3 stars but in the end decided there was just enough complexity to warrant a 3, but not enough to tempt me into further reading in this series.
